TVS RTX 300 Launched!
TVS has finally launched its most-awaited bike, the RTX 300. The RTX 300 is the brand’s first-ever adventure motorcycle, sporting an all-new engine. With a price tag starting from just Rs 2.34 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai), this is also one of the most affordable ADVs out there. Plus, TVS being TVS, the features are in abundance, and the value for money quotient is the key highlight. TVS RTX 300 Vs KTM 250 Adventure – Design
In terms of design, both the ADVs look the part. While the KTM closely resembles the 390 ADV as well as the bigger KTM Adventure bikes, the TVS RTX is a completely new bike. TVS’s first-ever adventure bike looks quite purposeful, with the tall windscreen, exposed steel trellis frame, rear rack, dual-purpose tyres, and much more. Adding to the design are elements like all-LED lighting, an optional front beak, optional knuckle guards, and an overall rugged stance. The KTM 250 ADV also looks quite purposeful, with a tall windscreen, dual-purpose tyres, a sleek tail section, a long front mudguard and much more. Overall, the KTM looks slightly sleeker, while the TVS looks hefty and solid. That said, both the ADVs look purposeful and are likely to stand out on the roads.

Features
The KTM has a great suite of features, some of which are borrowed from the bigger 390 ADV. However, there’s no beating TVS when it comes to features. The 250 Adventure gets features like a 5-inch TFT display, off-road ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, a bi-directional quickshifter, and the list goes on. TVS’s new adventure bike gets all the features that the KTM ADV does. Plus, it gets more features like map mirroring, cruise control, multiple ride modes, fully adjustable front suspension, tyre pressure monitoring system and much more. So, we can conclude by saying that the TVS ADV has a lot more features.

TVS RTX 300 Vs KTM 250 Adventure – Power
On paper, both bikes have impressive power figures. KTM’s 250cc engine produces 31bhp and 25Nm of torque along with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. However, one of the key highlights in the TVS RTX is its engine. This is an all-new 299.1cc engine producing 35.5bhp and 28.5Nm of torque along with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. One of the main reasons why many were excited about the RTX 300 was because of the engine. TVS will offer this engine in its future bikes as well. So, on paper, in terms of power and torque, the RTX 300 could be better. However, the RTX 300 weighs 180 kg, while the KTM 250 ADV weighs 177 kg. While the weight difference between the two does not seem like a lot, it does make a substantial difference in performance.

Verdict
While the newly launched TVS RTX 300 seems like the most value for money product, these prices are introductory prices. TVS will increase the prices of the RTX 300 in the near future, bringing it on par with the KTM 250 Adventure. Nevertheless, TVS offers a great package in terms of features and tech, but we still have to experience how the engine actually performs in the real world. The KTM ADV, however, has established its name in the market and is currently a great choice in its segment. Honestly, both bikes are closely matched. However, the TVS ADV does offer more performance and features. That aside, you should test ride both these bikes to see which is more to your liking.
