Rs 13 Lakh Hyundai SUV – Hyundai Bayon


To take on the Fronx, Hyundai might bring its Bayon to India. Talking of which, Hyundai will likely launch the Bayon in India in 2026. This new SUV will fill the gap between the Venue & the Creta. And yes, it looks more like a jacked-up Hyundai i20, giving it a crossover-like appearance. We have already seen the Fronx drawing exceptional sales volume for Maruti. So Hyundai will try to compete with a segment that is still in its development stage. As Korean brands expand their market lineup, Bayon will be a great addition to the entry-level SUV segment. Let’s dive into a few more details of the Bayon.

Design


The Bayon follows Hyundai’s new design language with an LED DRL light bar on the front of the car, along with bumper-mounted LED headlights. The rear looks quite unique with boomerang-shaped LED taillamps along with an LED lightbar across the rear of the car. So it looks like the Bayon is a handsome-looking SUV, considering the design of the Fronx, which has been appreciated by many. But what’s it like on the inside?

Rs 13 Lakh Hyundai SUV – Interior And Features


In International markets, the Bayon is offered with a slew of features and a well-laid-out interior. Talking of which, the SUV gets a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a sunroof and much more. Moreover, the international spec version also features an ADAS suite for added safety. Considering the Venue is already equipped with ADAS, Hyundai will not eliminate this feature when introducing the Bayon in India.

Powertrain


The international spec Bayon features a 1.0-litre engine. However, according to industry sources, the India-bound Bayon is likely to feature a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. Also, rumours suggest that Hyundai may also offer the current 1.0-litre engine alongside the new 1.2-litre engine. Having said that, the new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine will offer great performance and will also be manufactured to be compatible with future hybrid additions in the lineup. The same 1.2-litre mill will later feature in the future generations of the i20 and the Venue.
