Earlier this year, Kia launched the new Carens Clavis in the country. Now, the brand has launched a new variant of the same. Talking of which, Kia has launched a new HTX (O) variant of the MPV that sits above the HTX variant. In terms of pricing, the HTX (O) variant has been priced at Rs 22.77 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the introduction of a new variant, Kia should be eyeing to offer a value-for-money proposition at the mentioned price! So, what exactly does the new variant have to offer?

New Features

The new HTX (O) variant has been equipped with all the features of the HTX – LED headlamps, 12.3-inch touchscreen system, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, cooled cup holders, 360-degree camera, sunroof and more. However, it gets some new additional features like – 8-speaker BOSE sound system, multi-drive modes, smart key with remote engine start and electronic parking brake with auto hold. That said, the new variant has been introduced with both – 6 & 7-seating configurations. What about engine options? Well, the new HTX (O) variant has been launched with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (158bhp & 252Nm) – with a 7-speed DCT gearbox option.

The new variant sits between the HTX & the HTX+. It gets all the features from the HTX, with some additional features from the top HTX+ variant. Moreover, the new HTX (O) variant is almost Rs 1.90 lakh cheaper than the top model. That said, will the addition of a new variant help Kia to open gates for new buyers?
