Upcoming Hyundai CNG Cars –

Exter CNGExter CNG

The brand is hoping to increase the sales of CNG models by up to 20 percent by FY30, the same currently stands at 13 percent. At present, the brand has 3 CNG powered cars in its lineup, which is expected to be doubled to 6 models by the end of FY2030. While it’s still too early to speculate, here’s our expected list.

Hyundai Bayon –

We have already revealed that Hyundai will be launching its new micro-SUV, Bayon. This new SUV will be introduced in the coming year, expected to get a CNG powertrain option. Industry sources have suggested the SUV to come with a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, also a 1.2-litre NA petrol is under consideration. That said, the 1.2-litre NA petrol might get a CNG option in India. The Hyundai Bayon will rival the Tata Punch in the brand’s lineup.

Hyundai Stargazer –

Secondly, we are expecting Hyundai to launch the Stargazer to compete against the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Rumion. The said segment has been highly demanded in CNG-powered options, and we expect the brand to capitalise on the same. The brand might introduce a CNG powertrain with the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine on this model.

Hyundai Venue –

The SUV in its new avatar will be launched on November 4, at the same time the brand could introduce a CNG powered trim too. That said, the SUV will be getting a 1.2-litre NA petrol, again it can have a CNG version on the same engine. The SUV takes on the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV3XO and Skoda Kylaq.

At present, Hyundai has 3 CNG models in its lineup – Grand i10 Nios, Aura and Exter. Moreover, with the Exter, the brand has introduced its new dual-cylinder CNG tech, now the same can be extended with the other three upcoming CNG models. While it is just a speculation, we expect the brand to reveal more information in the coming time.
