New Maruti SUV Launch


Currently, Maruti has two SUVs that rival the Hyundai Creta – Grand Vitara & Victoris. The Grand Vitara is in the brand’s portfolio since 2022 and is sold via Nexa dealership network. However, the feature-loaded Victoris was launched in September 2025 and is sold via Arena dealership network – priced lower than the Grand Vitara. Now, the brand is set to launch another Creta rival in the country – the much-awaited e Vitara! Yes, after making its public appearance in Bharat Mobility Auto Expo in January 2025, Maruti is now set to launch the car. Talking of which, reports claim that the e Vitara will be launched in December 2025. Once launched, the SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta electric, Tata Curvv.ev, and the Mahindra BE6.

Maruti e Vitara Features


At the Auto Expo 2025, Maruti showcased the e Vitara for the first time in India. The model was loaded with some of the exciting & Maruti’s first features. Talking of which, the e Vitara gets – Level 2 ADAS, 10.1-inch touchscreen system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, powered & ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, 7 Airbags, reclining rear seats & more! However, features like ADAS & digital instrument cluster have already made their debut for Maruti with the Victoris. That said, it will be interesting to see if Maruti adds any new features at the time of the launch.

New Maruti SUV Launch – Maruti e Vitara Specifications


Globally, the Maruti e Vitara gets two battery pack options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The SUV primarily features a front-wheel drive (FWD) configuration. But the top-spec variants are available with an all-wheel drive (AWD) option. The smaller 49 kWh battery model produces 144bhp and 189Nm of torque. The most powerful variant is the dual-motor 61 kWh AWD version, delivering 184bhp and 300Nm. Now, the same was expected for the Indian market too. However, some reports suggest that Maruti might skip the AWD configuration in India – to keep the prices in check. Talking of which, Maruti will try to price the SUV aggressively, anywhere between Rs 17 lakh & Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
