Upcoming Mahindra 7-seater SUV – Spotted Testing?


Mahindra is planning something big for the Indian car enthusiasts. We already know that the Indian automaker will soon launch an electric version of its most popular 7-seater SUV – XUV700. Now, the model has been spotted testing on Indian roads, or rather, we can say we spotted it while charging!
The recent spyshots show the Mahindra EV being charged at a charging station near Hubbli. This confirms the model to be an electric version of XUV700, expected to be called the XEV 7e upon its launch. Apart from revealing that it will be an electric iteration, the spyshots also confirm some other details like the rear sun shades, aero-styled alloy wheels, triple screen setup, flush door handles and others in its package.

Expected Features & Specifications


In the preceding year, we discussed the patent images of the Mahindra XEV 7e that went viral on the internet. The new model will be slotted above the XEV 9e in the automaker’s lineup.
While we discussed some interior features spotted on the model above, other features to be equipped on the model include – Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, HUD, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, Level 2+ ADAS suite and more. Yes, the feature list will be similar to its other electric siblings, however we can expect some changes.
Talking about the powertrain details, just like its features – the model is also expected to carry the same battery packs from the XEV 9e and BE 6. Having said that, we expect the model to come with two battery packs – a 59kWh and a 79kWh. However, to make the deal sweeter, Mahindra can also think of offering an AWD setup with this 7-seater model.

Launch Details


Finally, let’s talk about the most interesting part – the launch. Mahindra has been tight-lipped on revealing anything about the launch of its new 7-seater EV. However, as things are moving, we can expect the brand to reveal this new model by the coming year. Pricing-wise, its top model can be priced slightly higher than the top model of XEV 9e.
