Tata Curvv EV Police Car For Himachal Pradesh

For the first time in India, an electric vehicle is now part of the police car fleet. And it is none other than the Tata Cuvv EV. While there have been many different cars in the police fleet all across India, the Curvv EV seems to be the most unique one. An Instagram user posted photos showing us a fleet of white Curvv EVs wrapped in blue police-spec livery. The decals say “Road safety enforcement”, “Himachal Pradesh Police”, and much more. The Curvv EV also gets strobe lights, a police siren and flashing blue and twos, mounted on the roof.

The police might also modify the Curvv EV to securely accommodate firearms. Himachal Pradesh has places with very high altitudes, going up to 7000 meters above sea level. Petrol and diesel cars may have been facing issues with breathing – causing the engines to struggle to perform. Electric vehicles face no such issues and can cope with the high altitudes and cold weather with ease. Plus, the Curvv EV is quite powerful and quick, making it easier for the police to reach places where they are needed as soon as possible. Overall, it will be interesting to see how the Curvv EV performs for the police. And with this move, we can expect other state police to add EVs to their fleets.
