BKC Road Collapsed – Truth Unfolded!

Our first thought was that this collapsed road looks like a CGI-heavy scene from any upcoming Hollywood movie, but the caption above it, moved us. The caption says, “The road at BKC in Mumbai collapsed!”. So, how far is it true?

Just after looking at the video, we started investigating and found out that this video is not from BKC nor is it from India. So, where is this from? The video showcasing a huge section of road sinking is from Bangkok, and this incident happened on September 24. This disaster took place on a road near Vajira Hospital.

In our search for truth, we came across a video shared on Reddit by a user named totally wicked. Apart from that, several other users have shared the incident that occurred in Bangkok on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit.

According to the information provided, the sinkhole was nearly 50 metres deep, and it also caused electricity poles and 3 vehicles to fall into it. The reason for this collapse stemmed from tunnelling at a nearby underground station, according to Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt.

This clearly states that the viral video claiming this incident occurred in Mumbai is entirely false and misleading. Moreover, we urge responsible citizens not to share anything unless it has been proof-checked, as it might leave many users unsettled.
